Dwarka · Where the Sea Meets the Sacred

A visual documentary of Dwarka — ancient coastal city, tidal light, and the quiet rhythm of devotion.

Dwarka sits where the Arabian Sea cuts into Gujarat's coastline, and the city carries the weight of that — temple bells at dawn, salt-bleached stone, pilgrims walking the ghats in the same direction they always have. I went with a single camera and no plan other than to stay until the light changed. The film moves through the port, the Dwarkadhish temple, the fishing jetty and the evening aarti, cutting on natural sound rather than music so the texture of the place stays in. Every shot is available light; the grade pulls the warmth out of the blue hour and holds the ochre of the stone without pushing into orange. The edit is deliberately unhurried — Dwarka has been here for thousands of years, and the film tries to feel like that.
